Muhammad Ali Akhtar

Muhammad Ali Akhtar joined the firm in 2020. He obtained his formative education from Karachi Grammar School, thereafter graduating with an LLB (Hons.) degree from the University of London in 2018. In 2020 he was called to the Bar of England and Wales at Lincoln’s Inn after completing the Bar Professional Training Course.

Prior to joining the Firm, in 2018-2019, Muhammad Ali was a Law Clerk to a Senior Justice of the Supreme Court of Pakistan.

Muhammad Ali frequently advises and represents clients with regard to disputes, banking law, white-collar crime, rent matters, regulatory issues, company law rights, taxes and other levies, competition law, international trade, engineering and construction contracts, labour and public procurement.

Some of Muhammad Ali’s most recent engagements include but are not limited to: successfully representing a leading car manufacturer before the Customs Tribunal challenging a demand amounting to tens of millions of rupees. He has also played an active role in successfully representing the Government in litigation challenging the vires of the Higher Education Commission Ordinance, 2021. Moreover, he has also successfully represented a premier Bank in a rental dispute pertaining to property worth millions of rupees. Presently, he is representing a leading international airline in a service dispute worth millions of rupees.
